Oxygen Therapy

Oxygen is absolutely essential for brain activity. When a person has a shortage of oxygen in their body they are considered to be in a state of hypoxia, or oxygen deprivation. Research demonstrates that appropriate levels of oxygen are vital to support cell respiration and metabolism. When the brain is not given the proper supply of oxygen, it can lead to sleep issues, poor concentration, forgetfulness, mood swings, restlessness, depressive thoughts and low drive.

Oxygen Therapy can be used to treat a wide range of conditions where tissues have been damaged by oxygen deprivation. If you simply restore the proper levels of oxygen to the needed areas you can restore much of the lost function. Oxygen therapy has been proven effective as a supplemental treatment for conditions including:

  • ADD/ADHD
  • Developmental Delays & Learning Disabilities
  • Autism and other learning disabilities
  • Cerebral palsy and other birth injuries
  • Degenerative neurological diseases (e.g., Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis)
  • Stroke
Illness and Oxygen Therapy

Lots of people, from no fault of their own, have acidic pH levels making them more susceptible to oxygen deprivation. Many of today's illnesses as well as premature aging are caused by a lack of oxygen. When food is metabolized & broken down in the body it leaves certain residues which give way to either alkaline or acidic pH. The body becomes imbalanced and overly acidic because of eating foods such as processed sugar, meats, dairy, coffee, and alcohol, to name a few. As the body becomes more and more acidic, bad bacteria, yeasts, and other microforms proliferate in the body. Oxygen therapy lowers acidic build-up and rebalances bodily pH by buffering these residues and removing them. This helps cleanse and repair tissue as well as maintain proper insulin production and use.

Oxygen therapy can also improve conditions in which inflammation is the culprit, such as arthritis and musculoskeletal issues and asthma. It also promotes the healing of infections, and has shown to slow the aging process.

The general benefits of Oxygen Therapy have been well documented and include the following outcomes:

  • Alleviation of tiredness
  • Headache reduction
  • Boost the immune system
  • Alleviate depression
  • Stimulate brain activity
  • Increase memory capacity
  • Boost concentration
  • Develop stronger alertness
  • Raise energy levels
  • Improve physical strength
  • Build endurance
  • Detoxify your blood
  • Reduce stress
  • Anxiety reduction
  • Remedy irregular sleeping patterns
What Will My Oxygen Therapy Session Be Like?

Oxygen therapy is painless and non-invasive. After an initial reading of your body's present oxygen level (gauged by a gentle finger clamp called a "pulse oximeter"), you will sit in a chair and simply breathe while a small plastic tube (called a "nasal cannula") gently blows a stream of oxygen into your nose. Oxygen is delivered to this tube by means of an oxygen concentrator which is an electrically powered device which removes nitrogen from the air. You can comfortably read or listen to music during your oxygen therapy session. The session concludes after your body's O2 level is optimized.
