Meet the ahp Team

Dr. Don R. Turk, Ph.D.

Certified Sound Therapist

Dr. Don TurkSince I was a child, I’ve always been fascinated with the brain and specifically with brainwaves. Working as a Sound Therapist at ahp gives me a wonderful opportunity to think about brainwaves A LOT!

After learning how to treat my own migraine headaches with the help of chiropractics and biofeedback, I became committed to learning how I could assist others with their own brain-based conditions. As a college professor at Saint John’s University, I created a course designed to help primary and secondary educators teach students with brain-based conditions such as ADD/ADHD and other learning disabilities and developmental delays. During that time my fascination with the brain grew even more.

My work as a Sound Therapist over the past eight years (and now at ahp) gives me the opportunity to help kids and adults who are trying to create positive changes in their lives without the use of drugs by focusing on the powerful role that the brain plays in health and well-being.

Gerard Grande

A Healing Place... Chiropractic Center is not only an office to receive chiropractic adjustments, but its a whole health wellness center which gets results and changes families' lives. That's why I love being a part of "ahp..cc." The  other, of course, is that I get to work with my smart, talented and beautiful daughter, Nova.

I am Gerard Grande, co-owner and office manager of A Healing Place... Chiropractic Center. Most people call me Jerry and when you give us a call to schedule your appointment, it will probably be my voice you will hear on the line. Ironically, my background is not in healthcare. I am a retired NYC high school administrator, but since forming ahp...cc with my daughter; I love being a part of our patients' health triumphs.

I hope you will soon give us a call and become a part of our wellness crusade!

Tracie Vance

Tracie VanceHi, my name is Tracie Vance. I am a senior at Forsyth Central High School and came to A Healing Place…Chiropractic Center after my car accident in December 2007. Since then Dr. Nova has helped me to overcome many physical barriers that prevented me from enjoying life.

In July of 2008 I became an employee of AHP. My job is to greet the patients at the front desk, and to help them out in the therapy area. I feel that I can identify with the patients here, and their concerns, because I am a patient as well. I have always been interested in the medical field and the opportunity to be working with Dr. Nova has been a blessing. Since working here at AHP, my interest in the medical field has deepened and so has my appreciation for doctors like Dr. Nova.

Dr. Nova Asks some important questions of interest to Cumming residents - Chiropractor Cumming Dr. Nova Asks...

How do you "catch" a cold?
Simply lower your resistance by avoiding the proper rest and exercise, eating lots of sugar and junk food, putting up with emotional stress and neglecting your nervous system by avoiding your chiropractor. You won't have to catch a cold because it will catch you!
How long does it take to form a bone spur?
Many who begin chiropractic care think their problem happened "last week when you bent over funny." But pictures of the spine tell a different story. Chiropractors know it can take your body years to deposit the calcium necessary to form a bone spur. It's your body's response to stress due to gravity or joint malfunction. And chiropractic care can help.
